2006 Ford Fusion – My Picture From Houston Auto Show

The New 2006 Ford Fusion

I never thought I could be impressed with an economy car but Ford surprised me. As I toured the 2006 Houston Auto Show, the Ford Fusion caught my eye. It’s actually an impressive small car with a design that is an upgrade from the usual “economy car” style. Ford has put forth a good effort to provide quality paint jobs and included the Fusion in that effort.

Just so you know, the Fusion is available with premium upgrades such as leather trim with contrasting color thread stitching, and a V6 engine to give you 221 horses. The extra chrome trim sets this car off from others in its league and its four-wheel independent suspension, 6-speed automatic transmission and 31 mpg make this a good bet for buyers who want value at a low cost.

There is a lot of head and foot room and the trunk is large enough for your luggage and what ever else you can think of.

Available in a 2.3 4 cylinder and a 3. 0 Liter V 6
5 speed manual or 6 speed electronic controlled automatic transmission

Suprisingly enough this car handles well and has great pick up and power…similar to a Mazda MX6. Suspension is tight and performs well around turns and while braking.

My overall opinion of this car….not bad. Perfect for a first time car buyer, student or anyone who is looking for performance, fuel economy and dependability on a budget. Good job Ford!
