Are you interested in using a motor oil that will protect your engine better than conventional motor oil....and increase fuel economy at the same time?

I was sent this fact sheet on the new Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil....made to improve fuel economy. Granted, the increase in economy is slight...it is a step in the right direction.

Mobil 1™ Advanced Fuel Economy oils are fully synthetic motor oils engineered to deliver outstanding engine protection and provide improved fuel economy. The low viscosity formulations increase engine efficiency and fuel economy.

Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy oils outperform conventional oils and meets or exceed the latest industry standards. They feature a low-friction, fully synthetic formula that helps improve energy efficiency in modern gasoline engines in areas such as the oil pump, valve train, pistons, cylinders and crankshaft.

Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy outperforms conventional motor oils by providing exceptional protection against engine wear, under normal or even the most extreme conditions.

Fuel Economy That Adds Up

• Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy oils deliver up to 2 percent fuel economy improvement and can save drivers over $400 on gasoline over the life of their vehicles. That’s a savings of about six cents per gallon of fuel.

• A typical passenger car with a 20-gallon gas tank can go up to 9 more miles on a tank of gas when using Mobil 1

Advanced Fuel Economy. That equates to up to 250 more miles per year under typical conditions. (1)

Features and Benefits

• Mobil 1 0W-20 Advanced Fuel Economy is appropriate for applications in which an auto maker recommends an SAE 5W-20 ILSAC motor oil; this application will not void the vehicle’s warranty

• Mobil 1 0W-30 Advanced Fuel Economy is appropriate for applications in which an auto maker recommends an SAE 5W-30 or 10W-30 ILSAC motor oil; this application will not void the vehicle’s warranty

• Engineered to deliver outstanding high-temperature engine protection while improving fuel economy.

• Offers a low-friction, fully synthetic formulation that helps to increase engine efficiency and in turn delivers outstanding fuel economy.

• Contains the SuperSyn anti-wear component system to help extend engine life.

Viscosities
0W-20, 0W-30

Availability

Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy are available or will be available soon, at leading retailers and auto parts stores including Wal-Mart, AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, Checker, Schucks and Kragen.

(1) *Fuel economy improvement is based on a comparison versus those viscosity grades most commonly used and a potential 2% fuel economy improvement. Savings estimates are based on a gasoline cost of $3 per gallon, average fuel economy of 22.5 mpg, annual mileage of 12,500 and lifetime mileage of 150,000. Actual savings are dependent upon vehicle/engine type, outside temperature, driving conditions and your current engine oil viscosity.
