I drive a 1991 Honda Civic DX sedan, and I was wondering if its common with this vehicle to vibrate at stoplights or in park. If its not, is it possible for a DIY’er to fix it?

I would first check the engine and transmission mounts and make sure they are not broken or worn out. Worn mounts can cause shaking/vibration at idle speed. Best thing to do is to visit your local mechanic or fast lube place and have them inspect the mounts for you; you really need to life the vehicle up in the air to see all the mounts.
If the mounts appear fine, you might be able to adjust the idle speed up just a little to smooth out the vibration. Replacing some of the mounts is not for the average weekend backyard mechanic, it can be hard work without the proper tools and the use of a lift. Adjusting the idle speed is also better left to a mechanic.
