1998 GMC Safari Van Odometer Light Flashes and Transmission Shifts Funny

While driving on the freeway, the illumination for the odometer and gear shift position on my 1998 Safari began dimming then brightening again. Soon the transmission began downshifting to 3rd then back to drive. After a mile or so everything went back to normal and I drove the last 85 miles home. In the morning the car started fine, but the area of the odometer was dim and then went blank. While driving the transmission never never seemed to shift to drive and might have simply stayed in one gear (3rd I think)the whole time. After stopping the car and turning it off I could get the lighted odometer area to again be luminated as I turned the key on, but as soon as I started the car it went blank again.

Honda Dealership Refuses to Honor Warranty On Manual Transmission Failure

I am currently battling my dealership because I am 1700 miles over my warrantee and my manual transmission went up. They are saying that they can’t help me because I did not use there dealership for routine maintenance and they are accusing the shop that I used of dumping the transmission fluid. I find this hard to believe because I had my oil changed a month before the transmission went up and the car was driving fine for 3 weeks. However, the Honda dealership had my car for 2 weeks before they supposedly diagnosed the problem. My question is: is it possible to drive a Honda with a manual transmission for weeks without transmission fluid? People are telling me that the car would not have gone into gear without this fluid in place.

2000 Nissan Frontier V6 – Timing Belt Broke Is the Engine Damaged?

Last week my timing belt broke on my 2000 Nissan Frontier V6 2-Wheel drive truck. It was towed to my mechanic whom did not want to do the work. So, I towed it to a nearby shop that I called for a quote. The engine is an interference engine so I was aware that the valves might be bent resulting in major engine repair. Except when idling, the engine runs fine, only when idling is there a serious vibration and the service engine soon light (yellow) is on. If a valve was bent, wouldn’t the engine run much rougher or make more noise? Could the new mechanic have not adjusted the timing correctly after installing the new timing belt?

1995 Nissan Maxima – Idles Rough and Engine Cuts Out – Why?

Morning and hello, I have a 1995 Nissan Maxima and I’m having trouble starting it up. It idles very hard and may cut off. The transmission also is slow to jump into gear. I’ve had a full tune-up on it. I’ve recently replaced the radiator, all belts and plugs and wires. Change all fluids and added fuel additives to the tank and changed the timing belt. But it’s still doing the same thing. Help
