I have 1997 Jeep Wrangler. While driving the CHECK GAUGES light comes on and the Alternator gauge goes off. Restarting the engine fixes it.

I recently went to start my 1993 Volkswagen Passat VR6 and it did not turn over. So, I took the battery in and it was completely dead. I had it charged and tested at two different places. Both said it was good.

1990 GMC Sierra V8
I have a 1990 GMC Sierra V8. Recently, it just would not start. The lights/radio/other electrical components work fine; it just will not turn over. I had it towed to a mechanic's shop where they said they did a computer diagnostic test on it and narrowed it down to the starter. They were going to charge me $209 + tax to fix it.

My alternator is only charging at 10v. Now this is the third alternator in 12 months that has done this. I have had them replaced with refurbished ones each time.

I have a Mitsubishi Montero sport, the alternator is under the front right side of the motor. When I changed the alternator, I notice oil on it and maybe possible inside of it. If oil get in the alternator would this cause it to fail?

My 1999 Ford Explorer XL 6 cylinder is having an electrical problem that appears to be killing my alternator. About a year ago, I had to replace a 175-amp fuse that is inline with my battery and alternator. Everything has been fine until recently, when I got in my truck one night and noticed my dash lights going dim and my battery indicator was lit.

I own a 1995 Nissan Frontier and my lights are very dim, my whippers are moving extra slow, and prior to all this I was experiencing squealing from I think my alternator belt, then all of a sudden, it stopped. This is when I started experiencing these problems.

1997 Chevrolet Lumina
We have a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina. About a week ago, when starting the vehicle, it stalled, and then took a couple tries for it to start again. The clock on the radio reset itself to 12:00. After that, it did not happen again for a couple days. Electric is not getting to anything else. Also, to note, the radio itself only half the buttons were lighting up when the car was in working order. Pease give any advice you may have.

My 2000 Ford Transit Millennium’s alternator charge light stays on continuously. I have done the obvious check fan belt all connections terminals changed alternator. Symptoms: light dims on switchover under power light come on reverse up light stays on. Please can you help?

1996 Toyota Corolla - Voltage Drain Alternator Problem?
My 1996 Toyota Corolla was brought to the future shop to install a remote car starter and then everything was fine. Now 2 days after in the morning, the car would not start. I am sure that it is the alternator but I need to find out if the installation of the remote car starter could have played a part in the failing of my alternator.

2000 Jeep Wrangler Have to Jump Start Battery Engine Wont Stay Running
I left the lights on in my 2000 jeep wrangler and the car wouldn't start. I jumped the car and the engine would start as long as I kept giving it gas and kept the key turned. Once I took my foot of the gas the car died again. When it was on the lights could be turned on and the radio could be turned on. Do you think I need a new battery or a new alternator? Should I try a new battery first? Thx so much

Is a Genuine Toyota Alternator Better Than Auto Zone's Alternators?
I have a 93 Toyota corolla. Replaced the alternator 4 years ago (not Toyota alternator). It died again. Toyota tells me that the only alternator that will last is theirs and that any other brand will not work for long. Is this true?
