Car Engine Stalls When It Warms Up
My car stalls when it warms up and I am driving it. I can drive in reverse without it stalling but if I put it in drive and push the gas, it dies.

1997 Acura 1.6EL - Engine Over Heating Problems
I have a 1997 Acura 1.6EL with 241,000 km on it. The thermostat that tells me if engine is too hot or cold started acting up. I changed the thermostat. Still same problem though.

I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero. I have been having a problem with my antifreeze leaking out. The car over heated one night and now it will try to run hot even when I put water or coolant in it.

I have a 2001 Saturn SC1 Coupe. I have been burning oil and do not have an oil leak. Anyway, I was in a traffic jam the other day my car started over heating.

I have a 2000 Ford F-150 Pickup. The temps around here are -20 today. This morning I set out for work, started the truck for 30 min when I got in the heater was blowing warm air.

I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue with 100,000 mi. I took it to the shop to have the water pump changed and the radiator flushed, when I got it back it began to overheat.

Is the original Radiator on a 2000 Nissan Altima SE a 2 Row Core or a 1 Row Core? Is a Copper/Brass Radiator better than an Aluminum one?

1988 - 89 Chevy GMC Pickup Engine
Some 7.4L TBI engines in 1988-89 Chevy/GMC Pickups (mine is a 1988 K3500 with automatic Trans), which run too hot - 240 degrees on hot day, 250-255 when towing.

My son has a 1994 Chevy Z71 pick-up and recently his temperature gauge has started going up quite high, then antifreeze starts to spray out everywhere.

1994 Chevrolet Pickup
My son's 1994 Chevy pickup will start, run for a while then the engine stops and will not restart until it has sat for sometime up to an hour our more. He has replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter. Do have any suggestions as to what might the causing this problem.

1996 Chevy Corsica - Symptoms of a Head Gasket Leak
Recently, I took my 1996 Chevy Corsica car into Pep Boys because it began to overheat suddenly. They installed a new radiator and told me that I had a small leak in the head gasket. They said I could drive the car for a few months at least, but gradually it would lose compression. Should I just keep checking and adding coolant?

Engine Block Sealer Additive Advice for Blown Head Gasket
I saw your answer to someone below after searching for a good block sealer: "If they DO suspect a blown head gasket or cracked block you might want to try a can of KW Engine Block Seal additive you can buy at your local auto supply. Drain out the coolant, add the can of additive to your radiator and drive the car for about 500 miles, then drain out the water/additive and install the proper mix of coolant and water to the radiator.

2001 Pontiac Grand Am Temperature Gauge Reads Very Low
I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT1. Today the temp gauge wouldn't register above 100, even though it was pumping heat. No check engine lights came on just the low register on the temp gauge. Any ideas?

1996 Jeep Radiator Is Leaking Antifreeze From Somewhere
Our 1996 Jeep was leaking anti-freeze. Our mechanic determined the problem was the radiator and so we paid to have a new one put in. Now, a few weeks later, the car was leaking antifreeze again and on the way to the mechanic it overheated and needed to be towed. The mechanic is looking at it and thinks it may be the head gasket, which he says will be a costly repair. Could this have blown because of him not doing the radiator repair correctly? I don't want to pay $1500 if the problem could have resulted from his doing the $500 job inadequately.

1996 Pontiac Trans Am Lower Radiator Hose Blows Off Radiator
I have a 96 Pontiac Trans Am; 6 speed. I have just recently installed a harmonic balancer, electric water pump, radiator, cold air intake, mass airflow sensor, 52mm throttle body, and distributor cap and rotor. My mechanic modified the wiring where the electric fans are running all the time. Despite this, I have had my lower radiator hose blow off three times in the past two weeks. Could you please tell me what this could be.

Ford Probe Engine Overheats - Temperature Gauge Moves Around
I have a Ford Probe 1996 model. Three weeks back, the temperature gauge went up to H. I stopped the car immediately, waited a little while and put coolant. Went to the mechanic next day, he changed the thermostat. After that, it just fluctuates, it goes from 1/2 to 3/4 but doesn't go completely to the H part. It comes back to the 1/2 mark in less than 30-35 seconds. What could be the problem?

1996 Ford Taurus Antifreeze Comes Out Overflow Bottle With Engine Off
I have a 1996 Ford Taurus 3.0L V6, I just replaced the transmission(it was stuck in 2ND gear) and replaced the thermostat. Every time I turn off the key after driving all my coo lent spills out. People have told me its vapor locked, but i know it will only vapor lock in the weather heat, but its been like 40 degrees high where I live.

1995 Mercury Mystique Engine Overheats and Runs Hot
I have a problem of overheating in my 1995 Ford Mercury Mystique. The temperature stays just below the middle mark while running and after driving for a bit when I need to stop at a signal or a turn I can hear the ac fan switch on however if I have to go slow in nose to nose traffic the temp rises and I have to switch off the ac but the temp does not come down. Aditionally if I have a straight drive for around 15 miles without any stops and have to return back home then when I reach home and switch off the car the water in the reservoir starts overflowing. I have got my mechanic to clean the radiator and he says the water pump too seems to be working, his suggestion now is to put a swithc so that both fans work continuously and if this does not work the engine gasket will have to be changed as that is why the water is backing/boiling up into the reservoir. I do not have any problem if I drive around 10 miles with the ac on minimum.

I Think My Engine Blew and Head Gasket - How Do I Know For Sure?
About two weeks ago, I took my well-running vehicle in for it's 90k service at a shop near my office, which cost a few hundred dollars. Four days later, my wife is driving the car and out of nowhere the "check gages" light comes on and the temp gage is heading up fast. She pulls over to let it cool. Luckily she is very near to an auto shop run by a friend. After waiting a while to cool it down, she tries to get the rest of the way there but it stalls out within pushing distance of the shop.

Geo Metro Radiator Overflow Tank is Full of Sludge and Dirt
I was checking out the article on How Do I Flush My Radiator and I'll tell you why - since you asked! I recently purchased a 1996 Geo Metro so I could afford to go somewhere besides back and forth to work! We had a recent spell of very hot weather here - as did the entire nation - and my engine got a little hot one day so I decided to check and see if there was enough coolant. I can't even see the coolant in the reservoir because there is so much gunk attached to the inside of it! It's slimy gray gunk and I want it out of there. I'm no mechanic but I'm assuming that if it's in the reservoir, it must be all through the system. So, do you think flushing it will clean that out?
