I Put Water in My Power Steering Fluid

Reader Question: Hello,

I have accidentally put water in my steering fluid tank thing, what will this do to my car?

I am very worried as the car belongs to my boyfriend.

Hey Aimee,

Oooopss…it is a small problem! Do not worry though. I do not think you really did any damage to the engine.

I would recommend you take the car to your local fast lube oil change place and have them flush out the power steering fluid and install new fluid.

It is a good idea to have that done periodically anyway so you might be doing him a favor in a round about way.
