Steps to Take After An Accident

Being involved in an accident may involve more than a headache. However, if you know what to do after an accident, this is a minor problem.

After an accident we tend to be confused on what to do. What to do immediately after leaving the car or how to fill the forms of car insurance are uncomfortable situations to which we have to face. However, there are a number of steps that will greatly facilitate things.

First, the driver must wear a reflective vest that is in your car. The next step is placing a warning triangle that will guarantee visibility that will be of vital importance.

These warning triangles should be placed one in front and one behind the vehicle at a distance of 50 meters -100 paces, so they are visible from 100 meters away. On roadways with three lanes or more one-way, it is sufficient to place a single triangle on the back of the car.

Of course, if the accident has caused some injuries, however minor it may seem, call emergency hotline and take note of their data.

Do not just collecting information here. You need to take note of the make and model of vehicles involved and if there are witnesses to the accident, it is advisable also to include that in your notes. If the driver involved is leaving the scene of the accident, try to record his license plate and car model.

Similarly, and whenever possible, it will be very useful to make a photograph of the scene. Last but not the least; be sure to call your car insurance company immediately.
