My Car Won’t Start
Reader Question: Hi,
My car won’t start. If I put the jump leads on it goes fine but then if I turn off the engine and try to start it again same thing.
I have swapped the battery but it is still the same.
I hope you can help!
Nicola
Hey Nicola,
If you can jump start your battery and get the engine started with the jumper cables, but when you install another battery without the jumper cables and the engine will not start because the battery is dead. It sounds like you have a bad battery or a loose battery cable connection.
Have the battery “load tested” at an auto parts store or your mechanic, and triple check your battery cable installation.
You should not be able to easily move the battery cables on the battery with your bare hands.
Blessings,
Austin Davis
