2002 Ford Mustang Engine Won’t Start Just Clicks

Reader Question My 2002 ford mustang seems to be dead. I replaced the battery and now I get power, but it’s struggling to even attempt to foll over. it clicks, but only a couple times. I can hear a hum of power within the car, but cannot get it to start. please help

Russ

Hey there Russ

My first guess would be to inspect the starter motor. With your headlights ON, turn the engine over…if the headlights DIM, you probably have a bad starter motor or a weak battery. If the headlights stay good and bright…you probably have a bad connection at the starter motor, if the headlights go OUT, you have a bad battery or a bad connection at the battery cables.

Blessings,

Austin Davis
