My Car Smells Funny
A new car gives off no smell from running (being on). The more a car is used,the more miles it has on it, the more car smells come from the RUNNING of the car. Why is this happening?

1972 Ford Maverick Needs a New Radiator
I own a 1972 Ford Maverick it has a 250 cid inline 6 cylinder it has a/c power steering, it only has 85,000 miles I recently replaced the freeze plugs cleaned the carburetor and put a manual choke on it.

Radiator Stop Leak Additives
hello i have a 93 mercury topaz and its been leaking and thermastat has almost entered the red spot or hot spot, i did take it to a mechanic and he said it was the seals close to the water pump but it wasnt the water pump,,,he said it would cost about 260 to replace and i dont have that kind of money at this time,,ive tried ,i know not wise , but old stop leak, i had for a year never opened,,,anyway, is there a temporary solution of a stop leak till my next payday, about a week Or the best brand of stop leak, thank u

Oil Leaking 1999 Chevy S10 Pickup - Rear Main Seal?
I own a 1999 Chevrolet S-10 pickup with approximately 115,000 miles on it. I noticed an oil leak and If I'm correct its coming from the rear main oil seal. What do you think is the estimated cost and time of repair? If I choose to have this done do you recommend anything else that should be replaced since the transmission will be removed.

1997 Chevy Z-71 Intake Gasket Or Head Gasket Leak?
We have a 1997 Chevy Z-71 which has decided it doesn’t want to heat all the time. It’ll work and then all of a sudden it’ll shoot out cold air. I took it to a shop around my town and they said it was the intake gasket. We let it sit for a month in the Minnesota cold and now there is white smoke coming out of the exhaust and they said not to drive it more than 2 blocks because it’ll probably quit. Does that sound like the head gasket??

Should I Replace The Engine In My 1986 Olds Cutlass?
I had some work done to my engine recently. I had some gaskets replaced. Not the head gaskets though. About a week or so later, I noticed my engine leaking more. My mechanic told me it was probably old oil burning of the engine. Since then the engine leak has gotten worse and now I am noticing white smoke coming from the exhaust. I have to put about 3 quarts of oil a day into the car and it still runs rough.

1997 Pontiac Sunfire Gasoline Smell Sometimes?
I have a 97 Sunfire which the timing chain broke and had to be replaced. Did damage the head & valves, Car has been fixed, but lately there is a gas smell sometimes when you start the car or driving do you have any ideas what it my be?

Pontiac Fiero Overheats - Oil Leak and Engine Damage?
I purchase a 1986 Pontiac Fiero 2.5 engine and 5 speed Manual from the dealership I was working at for $200.00 in 2004. They said the had been siting there for at least a year. I installed a new battery and prime the throttle body and started it right up. Drove around the block then started restoring it at the dealership in my spare time.

Engine Oil Drain Plug Stripped Out On Toyota Avalon
My mother has a Toyota Avalon that she took in to have the oil changed. She always takes it to the same dealership.Well this morning they told her that the oil drain plug was stripped and they could not get it out and gave her a quote of almost $500 to replace the oil pan and plug.

2000 Chevy Cavalier Coolant Leak No One Can Find
I have a questions about my 2000 Chevy Cavalier. My coolant is leaking (takes about 2 months before the coolant light comes on). So far I have had the hoses replaced (mechanic 1) and a new thermostat put in (mechanic 2). The most recent mechanic (3) said that it could be a head gasket but he wasn't positive, it was a guess.

My car has been stuttering a lot when I drive it. It's a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix Se, and it's leaking oil, I've already gone through a gallon of oil in the past 2 days. When I look under the car, its soaked in oil and I can see it dripping out.

Oil Change - How Often Should I Change The Oil In My Car
I’ve had this question for years about how the engine oil system works. I’ve consistently changed my engine oil every 5,500 to 6,500 miles. I go to a commercial oil change shop where they change both the oil and filter each time.
The question is; why does my engine go through about a quart of oil between 3,000 to 4,000 miles from the last oil change?

2000 Acura 3.2 TL Has Some Kind of Dark Fluid Leaking Out
I have noticed some oil on the top of the gear panel; the place where I shift the gears. However the oil has a deep blue color not in pink. So I am not sure if it’s the transmission fluid or the engine oil. I have an Acura 3.2 TL of year 2000. These models are known to have some transmission issues.

I have a 2001 Pontiac Montana with 170,000 KM. I think the coolant is slowly going down in the overflow tank. At what point would you suggest the above treatment? Should I take it in for a pressure test?

1991 Lincoln Continental – Leaks Antifreeze
My 1991 Lincoln Continental has begun to leak antifreeze out the back of the exhaust. Not the part of the engine or the manifolds on the engine, but the car has duel exhaust and it is just running out both mufflers.
