Brake Repair

Reader Question: When I apply my brakes after going anything over 60 mph, I got vibration in the steering wheel. I had the brakes replaces a year and a half ago.

They told me the rotors were fine but after a while, it started doing the same ting again. What can you tell me about this problem?

Thanks!

Hey there,

You probably have “warped brake rotors” and they either need to be trued (machined) or replaced depending on how much material is still left on the rotors themselves and how much material will have to be cut off to make them smooth again.

Here is an article I wrote about it.
