Reader Question: I have a 2003 Chevrolet S-10 Extended Cab 4x4 Pickup. I wanted to flush the transmission fluid, and put in new, but the line that goes to the bottom of the radiator has a really weird keeper attached to it.
It looks like a piece of wire wrapped around a washer. Do you know how to remove this? Is there a special tool? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Gerri
Hey Gerri,
If you really want to service the transmission, I would advise you to remove the transmission pan and replace the filter OR take the vehicle to the fast lube place and get them to flush the fluid for you with their special machine.
I still drop the pan and replace the filter in my shop and on my personal cars.
Blessings,
Austin Davis
