2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder

Reader Question: Hi! Me again!

Since you were so much help on my last question, I thought I could come to you again.

My 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder has done the whole 60k thing. I spent $1200. You were pretty dead on as to everything they would do, and try to get me to do.

However, my car is still making some noise. The noise is whenever I let go of the brake, or am steering, even driving. It will stop after the car has been on for a little while, but it is like a cranking noise as if its 90 years old.

Does it make sense? Do you have any ideas?

Christine

Hey there again Christine,

I guess my best advice to you would be to go back to the place that did the 60K and have them take a test drive with you and hear the noise you are talking about.

This noise could be something simple that just needs a little shot of oil, or it could be something like a strut mount bearing that needs to be replaced…without being able to hear it I would not really know.

If you can get someone to give you their opinion, on what they think it is.

I would be glad to try to assist you further.

Blessings,
Austin Davis

My car is making the same noise and I was told that it was a mount issue.

Got Something to Say?
