1999 Ford Mustang GT Convertible

Reader Question: Hi,

I have a 1999 Ford Mustang GT Convertible. It has been sitting in storage in the garage for the winter and has not been driven for a couple of months.

I went out there this morning and noticed a puddle or red fluid up by the front drivers side tire.

Do you have any idea what this could be?

Thank you,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Red fluid could either be automatic transmission fluid, which could be leaking from the transmission or the metal and rubber lines from the transmission to the radiator. Or, it could be power steering fluid from the p/s pump, the p/s hoses or the rack and pinion unit.

Check the fluid levels in the transmission and the PS pump.

Cars HATE to sit without being driven!!

Blessings,
Austin Davis
