1995 Ford Taurus

Reader Question: Hi,

I have a 1995 Ford Taurus with 49k on the clock. However, its original owner let it sit for over a year because the front coil springs are shot.

My question is do you have to re-align the front end on this particular car? I cannot find a caster/camber adjustment. I could adjust the toe, using the tie-rod end but that is about it.

Do you have any suggestions? Also, on the drivers side strut, there is a piece of plastic that appears to look like some sort of stabilizer bar, any ideas?

Thanks for your time,

Alex

Hi Alex,

Yes, you really should get an alignment done after you do this. I would also highly suggest you replace the struts at the same time, I cannot recall the last time we replaced coil springs.

I do not have a picture of the strut, so I am not sure what plastic piece you are referring too…sorry.

Blessings,
Austin Davis
