Reader Question: My son’s 1994 Chevy pickup will start, run for a while then the engine stops and will not restart until it has sat for sometime up to an hour our more. He has replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter. Do have any suggestions as to what might the causing this problem.

Any help you might suggest would be greatly appreciated.

I will forward you answer to him.

Thank you for your time

Hi there,

I would try replacing the ignition module and pick up coil inside the distributor. They tend to overheat then fail.

Moreover, if you wait until they cool down again they will work until they overheat again.

Blessings,
Austin Davis
